The heavens declare the glory of God! (Ps 19:1)

Hello ministry partners! I hope that each of you is doing well and that for those of you in Texas, I hope that you have been able to keep up with these strange Texas weather changes.

At the beginning of the month, it snowed here in Dallas and as a result, we were forced to take a day to just rest and be still for a moment. I really love it when God does that. It reminds me that even when we are not working or necessarily doing much productive work, He is still working. Watching the snow fall and walking around in it, I am always reminded that just like the snow covers everything we see, God is also touching everything around us.

Halfway through the month, the FOCUS staff took a few days to go on retreat together. It was a really impactful experience getting some time to refocus and recenter our hearts and minds on God. We took some time at the retreat to go and spend some time with God in complete silence, and as uncomfortable and difficult as it was to quiet my mind and to just let myself sit with God, I remember feeling that God was just happy to be there next to me and that I didn’t need to impress him with my prayers. It was enough praise to Him to just be there with him. I also just loved being out in the Texas Hill Country and remembering that God’s creation is a beautiful gift. I would encourage you to take some time to spend with God in silence! You’ll be surprised what he can show you even when you say nothing.

In May, we are sending a group of FOCUS students to a week-long conference in Washington state called SICM (Student Institute of Campus Ministry), where they will have the opportunity to learn more about how they can be a light on their campuses and show Jesus to the people around them. We held a fundraiser called Showcase at the end of February and we were able to raise over a quarter thousand dollars to help lower the cost of SICM for each of the students. Thank you so much to each and every one of you who were able to come to Showcase, I know our students greatly appreciate it. This year, there are four girls from the core that I am leading with Zoe that are going to be attending SICM, and I am SO excited to see what God will show them in May. Please pray that in this season of fundraising, the girls in my core and all of the SICM attendees at large will have a successful season of raising funds and that God will keep moving in their lives in these short months leading up to SICM.

That wraps up February! Thank you so much for all of your support. In moments that I feel overwhelmed with discomfort, discouragement, and worry, God reminds me that I have a team praying for us and giving joyously towards the spiritual lives of our students. Thank you.
