Seeing where God is already working, and joining him!
Hello ministry partners, it’s almost Easter Sunday! I am so excited to share some of my stories from March with you all.
Prayer requests:
Thank you and Happy Easter!!
Towards the beginning of the month, my friend Zoe got the flu and was unable to come to core that week. Instead of trying to lead core by myself, I asked one of the freshmen from my core to help me plan and lead core that week, and she agreed! We got together and planned our study on Ephesians 3, and it was incredible to see how Jordyn would consider the needs of our core and come up with questions that would serve those needs. It is exciting to see how God is building future leaders in our ministry and that we get to join him in that!
After spring break, I hosted a fiesta at my house where students came and I got to show them some of my culture with good, games, and a pinata, it was so much fun! I think oftentimes it is easier to conform to everyone else’s cultures and leave my hispanic side to be used whenever I am around other latinos, instead of taking initiative and inviting others into that side of me. Hosting this party was such a big success and the students had a blast! I am excited to host more events like this in the future.
Every year, a group of students from Campus Christian Fellowship up in Washington state comes down to Texas for a week and join us in doing outreach on the UTD campus. This year, we had a group of 7 students come and me and my roommates got to host 3 of them at our house! Throughout the week, the Washingtonians went out on campus with us and engaged in conversations with our students about faith and invited them to our cores, large group gatherings, and upcoming events. These missionary students were so excited to serve and loved on our students so well, I was immensely encouraged by them. As the students returned to Washington, I was reminded that God is working all across the world, even in places I don’t get to see.
Important Announcement!
As all of you know, I committed to serving with FOCUS at UTD for the 2021-2022 academic year. I have loved doing ministry at UTD, and have felt God grow my love for the campus and the students here. In prayerfully considering the future and discussing it with several of the staff members, I am excited to announce that I have decided to stay on the UTD FOCUS staff for another 4 years!!!
In the next couple of months, I will be reaching to each of you to ask if you would be interested in continuing to financially support me! I am so thankful for each of you, God has blessed me immensely through your support and there is not a day that goes by that I am not reminded of your generosity. Thank you.

- Please pray for our SICM trip in May! Our students are continuing to raise money to go to this campus ministry training in Washington state that will help equip them for how they can be a light on campus.
- One of our senior students recently lost a family member and as a community, we have been learning how to mourn alongside her and comfort her through this season. Please pray for this student and her family as they grieve, and pray that the Lord would continue to surround them with immense love and comfort.
